Central Board of Secondary Education has conducted the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam in the month of Feb 2017 for candidates who wish to pursue teaching from Class 1 to Class 8th. The results of CBSE CTET 2017 have been announced on April 1st 2017. Now the CTET Marks Statement/the result Certificates would likely to be dispatched on April 28th 2017. A total of 2,39,961 candidates registered for CBSE CTET Paper I. But only 2,07,522 registered for the exam for Primary Classes 1 to 5. Almost 18,000 aspirants belonging to the General category qualified. 17.19 percent of the candidates from the OBC category passed.

The CTET exam is compulsory for teachers to pass so as to be appointed to government-funded CBSE schools. This stands true for private schools. This exam takes place twice an year and the candidates can appear as many times as they want. The CTET certificate is provided to teachers that pass the exam and it remains valid for seven years. If the school isn't changed by the teacher, they do not need to appear for the examination again.
